The man accused of murdering Brighton University graduate Peter Falconio in Australia has pleaded not guilty to a double rape.
The charges - that he raped a mother and her 12-year-old daughter - are not related to the disappearance of Mr Falconio in July 2001.
Bradley John Murdoch, 44, denied seven offences relating to the rape and abduction in August, at a brief hearing in the South Australia state District Court in Adelaide.
He was remanded in custody to appear again on February 18.
Murdoch, a mechanic and truck driver, is charged with murdering Mr Falconio, 28, on a remote Outback highway in the Northern Territory.
No trace has been found of Mr Falconio since a gunman attacked him and his girlfriend, Joanne Lees.
Miss Lees, of Hove, escaped and was able to alert the police.
