Burgess Hill boss Danny Bloor was in buoyant mood after his side cruised into the last 16 with a 3-0 win at Northallerton.

He said: "It was a very professional performance and a big result for Sussex football."

When asked if his side can go all the way, he responded: "I know it's a cliche, but we take each game as it comes. I know I have a squad with the capability of achieving a lot and after our results at Holbeach and here who is going to want to play Burgess Hill?"

Hillians did a good job on their young Northern League Division Two hosts who never recovered after falling behind in the fifth minute to a stunning right-foot volley from outside the box by Sean Edwards that left keeper Darren Poole clutching thin air after Leo Day's cross was only half-cleared.

Ashley Carr wasn't quite at his best, but it was vintage work by the veteran striker which set up the second goal on 23 minutes. Steve Harper was left to apply only the merest of touches with his head.

There wasn't much threat of a home comeback after that and Hillians could have finished them off long before the start of stoppage time when Poole allowed Day's shot to escape his grasp.

Skipper Adie Downey and defender Des Guille were booked and Downey was fortunate to escape so lightly after he retaliated to spark a brief first-half free-for-all.
