A 14-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital after falling off a home-made rope swing.
The alarm was raised by members of Peacehaven Golf Club in Brighton Road, Newhaven, who were alerted by a member of the public who found the boy unable to move in muddy woodland.
The golfers called the emergency services, who airlifted the boy to Eastbourne District General Hospital.
Mike Winder, club assistant honorary secretary, said: "It was difficult to move him so he ended up being airlifted."
The boy is thought to have been alone at the time of yesterday's fall.
A hospital spokesman said the boy's injuries were not serious.
