A theatre director will swap the stage for poetry when he gives a talk to Littlehampton's Lighthouse Cafe Club.
Patrick Garland has directed on the stage, cinema and television, working with some of the biggest names in showbusiness on both sides of the Atlantic.
He also had a spell as artistic director of Chichester Festival Theatre but on January 31 he will be swapping the bright lights to give a talk about Philip Larkin's poetry.
Lighthouse Cafe Club chairman Pat Harvey said: "Patrick is extremely well known for his career in the world of theatre but it will be fascinating to share his insights into one of the great English poets of the 20th Century."
Tickets for Awkward Reverence, Themes Of Belief And Doubt In The Poetry Of Philip Larkin, cost £4.50 and are available on the door or by writing to Wick Information Centre, 76 Wick Street, Wick, Littlehampton.
The talk will be held at Littlehampton Sailing and Motor Club, at the junction of South Terrace and Bayford Road, at 7.30pm.
