Hospital patients could benefit from a shake-up of catering services at Worthing Hospital.
A pilot scheme using special mobile food trolleys with cook-chill meals has been proving a success with patients.
Worthing and Southlands Hospital NHS Trust is now planning to expand the service to all wards at the hospital and Southlands Hospital in Shoreham.
Under the new scheme, meals arrive at the hospital that have been already cooked and then frozen.
Patients are given a wider choice of meals, which are heated up in the kitchen and kept warm on trolleys.
A hospital spokesman said: "A lot of hospitals have got this system now.
"We have been running the pilot scheme for about a year and now we are looking to see how we can expand it further. "Patients like it because they have more choice and the food is hotter when it gets to them because of the trolleys used."
