International beach football will return to the Sussex coast this summer when the Kronenbourg Cup is staged at Brighton.
Teams from England, France, Switzerland, Norway, Portugal and Spain will be playing.
Last year, more than 100,000 people watched games live while another 250,000 saw the event on Sky TV.
Culture councillor Andy Durr said: "It was a great success last year and we hope this year will be even better."
A temporary stadium will be built near the Palace Pier. Sky will again broadcast the show.
The culture committee is expected on February 6 to approve the event between June 27 and 29.
Organiser Octagon is also hoping to secure sponsorship for a beach rugby event the next weekend.
