Could it be that a vacant coach station means selling off Royal York Buildings is that much easier?
Belief in government promises fades even further with the tragic closure of the Pool Valley coach station.
The city of Brighton and Hove can't even support a central bus station. Incredible.
Recall the promises? In May 2001, Labour said: "Partnerships between local authorities and bus companies will improve service quality.
Nationally, we will improve inter-city coach services." (Source: Ambitions For Britain", Labour's Manifesto 2001, page 12.)
Where, oh where, is the partnership to save our coach station? Perhaps our local MPs could explain how the hype accords with what we see locally?
