'Danger! Danger! High Voltage!' Oh, yes.
We may all now be dancing crazily around our living rooms as these words thunder out from the stereo but a mere two months ago they played at the Pressure Point to a small handful of only those in the know.
An underground hit over the summer, Danger went in the UK charts at number two, but these guys aren't exactly new to the music scene.
The song was popular in the underground scene last year and picked up favourable responses from Jarvis Cocker.
Hailing from Detroit, Electric Six have been plying their particular hybrid of disco rock in various guises (mostly as the Wild Bunch) since 1996.
From their origins as The Wildbunch to their latest phase as Electric Six, the Electric Six saga has been a tale of people.
The men who would become Electric Six were carefully selected based on their psychological profiles and individual capabilities.
By coincidence, all of them hail from Detroit City.
They are Dick Valentine, vocalist, Disco, the bassist, Surge Joebot and Rock 'n' Roll Indian, guitarists, drummer M and Tait Nucleus as synthist.
A cross between the B52s, Captain Beefheart, the Cramps and The Tubes, the band wear cheap suits, thick layers of stubble and havelarge bags under their eyes.
A pop act without a hint of sugary, manufactured teenager about it, they seem to be the entertainment solution the world has been looking for.
Joyous, celebratory stuff that already has the nation crawling over itself to get tickets for their gigs, look sharpish and join the frenzy.
This is a band whose hour has finally come.
Sold out. Call 01273 772770 for details.
