Here's a prediction for you - Bobby Zamora to score another ten goals between now and the end of the season and Albion to beat the drop.
I saw the game against Portsmouth last Saturday and was highly impressed with how Brighton set about the league leaders. When someone with Paul Merson's experience admits afterwards that the difference between the teams was Bobby then that's high praise.
Didn't he take his goal well? It was his first for 7 games but I doubt if Bobby was too bothered that he was going through a lean spell. It happens to all strikers, even less than prolific ones like yours truly, and getting back on the scoresheet will have done his confidence a power of good.
As a striker it's a great feeling when you're on top of your game and the goals are flying in.
Every time you get a shot away you think it's going to go in and all you want is for cross after cross to come into the box which you can attack.
My best ever season was in 1983-84 when I was playing in Spain for Malaga. Now I know ten goals doesn't sound like a lot, but in my defence you have to remember that in those days in La Liga the favourite result was 1-0. Defences ruled and the top scorer that season was Hugo Sanchez, who was some player for Mexico, and he only got 16.
Back to the Albion. They have proved with their results against decent sides like Pompey, Coventry and Wolves that they are capable of living with the best in the First Division.
The key for them is those five games against the teams around them: Sheffield Wednesday at home and Grimsby, Bradford, Walsall and Stoke away.
They are the six-pointers. If they could win three of them and draw the others then the situation at the bottom could change an awful lot.
I can't see any of those sides suddenly putting together long, unbeaten runs and there is no sign of any sudden squad strengthening by any of them either. But I think Steve will bring in a new face in the next week or so.
Albion will miss Steve Sidwell because goalscoring midfielders are rare and he could turn out to be one of the best, but Steve Coppell has done a good bit of business in getting Ben Roberts on loan from Charlton to keep goal while big Michel Kuipers is out injured.
Ben looked to be a good shot-stopper from what I saw against Pompey and he commands his area pretty well.
I genuinely believe Albion can get out of trouble and I fancy it will be Bobby Z who leads the way.
