Albion youth boss Dean Wilkins has told his team to show more aggression.
The under-19s entertain Leyton Orient at Sussex University on Saturday having scored just 16 goals in 13 Youth Alliance fixtures with six coming in one game.
A goalless draw at Colchester underlined his side's lack of cutting edge.
Wilkins said: "We played well at the back but did not produce the goods in the final third.
"The players have to be more aggressive in this area, develop more of an edge. It is frustrating because they have had lots of possession but it is not being translated into goals.
They must learn to be more positive. They must go for it otherwise all the neat football they play is wasted.
"It is not just down to the strikers. Apart from the central defenders, it is a collective responsibility. We are simply not scoring enough."
Defender Nicky Bridle, who was returning from injury, played for an hour against Colchester and Wilkins intends to give him longer against Orient.
Matt Piper should be fit after sustaining a knock, while Grant Vanson has been sidelined with a virus.
