A football coach won Adur's sports volunteer of the year title at an awards ceremony.
David Fickweiller was given the award for his dedication to Adur Athletic FC, a club he has been involved with for 28 years.
Adur Athletic was the first club in Sussex to be awarded the Football Association's Charter Standard Club award, testifying to how hard it worked to improve coaching.
At the awards ceremony at Lancing Manor Leisure Centre, Adur district Councillor Liza McKinney said: "It's thanks to David and all the others who help provide sport for young people in the district that we have such a good variety of clubs available.
"I want us to forge ahead, encouraging young people to take up sport in the area."
Runners-up for the award were Paul Grimwood, of Shoreham Sharks Basketball Club, and David Tanner, of Southwick Hockey Club.
