Cash has been awarded to help new companies survive their early years.
Support will be given to young firms through the Eastbourne Enterprise Hub scheme after £270,000 was awarded by the South-East England Development Agency (Seeda).
The group will work with schools and colleges, technical specialists and established firms.
John Veness, of Eastbourne Reborn, said: "This is a very exciting opportunity for Eastbourne."
