Eastbourne consolidated fourth spot in Kent/Sussex Regional League Division One with a 5-3 win away to Marden Russets, who are now seven points adrift in fifth place.
A frantic first half saw Eastbourne lead 4-3. Victory was wrapped up with a fifth goal in the second half, the scorers being Kevin Williams (two), Flo Pietsch (two) and Dan Hill.
Crowborough were unlucky to lose 2-1 at home to leaders Sutton Valence.
Darren Pulman scored a penalty stroke five minutes from time but Crowborough could not force an equaliser despite late pressure.
Skipper Phil Newington said: "Hopefully we will soon start turning these good performances into points."
South Saxons lost 3-0 at home to Ashford.
