An inquiry has been launched after a woman spotted staff at a council swimming pool browsing through a pornographic magazine.
The woman and a friend were at the Prince Regent pool in Brighton, when they spotted staff reading the magazine.
Although no official complaint was made, other staff members reported the incident to senior managers on Friday.
Adam Mayes, leisure operations manager at the centre, said the magazine was lost property which had been thrown away.
He said he would be speaking to the staff before deciding what disciplinary action to take.
A spokesman for Brighton and Hove City Council said the pool was managed by Ecovert and added: "As a matter of principle we'd object to staff handling pornographic material in any council building."
