One of the oldest cats in Britain is searching for a new home because she's too frail for a transatlantic flight with her owners.
Daisy, 26, has lived with a couple near Worthing since she was a kitten but now they are moving to the USA and fear the flight will prove too much for their beloved puss.
The couple are taking their young dog with them but decided to leave the feline at home because of her age.
Billy Elliott, rescue officer with the Worthing and District Animal Rescue Service, collected Daisy at the weekend.
He said: "Her owners are terribly upset about leaving her but it's for the best. Every time they called me to discuss handing her over they were in tears."
Mr Elliott said: "I thought she was about 12 or 13 when I first saw her. She's a bit temperamental but I suppose it's understandable."
Daisy does not venture outside, can get on with dogs and uses a litter tray.
Anyone interested in taking on Daisy should contact Mr Elliott on 07771 631949.
