Jedi Knights edged out Dirty Sanchez as the new Westows Sussex indoor five-a-side league got under way this week.
The Sussex County FA affiliated league aims to attract 300 teams, although they have an initial entry of 50 sides playing over four nights at School Road, Hove.
The Westows league began on Monday with three matches. There was action in two divisions on both Tuesday and Wednesday, while there were three fixtures on Thursday.
Matches are 26 minutes long with points awarded for scoring goals, whether a team wins or loses.
There were plenty of goals around with Chuff Nuts putting 27 past Lansdowne FC on Tuesday.
Possibly the most entertaining game saw Jedi Knights beat Dirty Sanchez 10-9 in division two on Wednesday. Darren Webber hit six goals for the winners while Craig Hutson did likewise for the losers.
Results and tables from the league will appear in The Argus every Saturday.
New teams wishing to join should call Paul Sargeant on 01273 711944.
