The Harding twins put in match-winning performances as Hassocks rode their luck in a 2-0 victory over Hailsham Town at the Beacon.
Goalkeeper Joel made a string of fine saves, particularly in the first half, while brother Pat netted his 19th of the season after the interval to make sure of the points.
Graham Beveridge hit the bar for Hassocks in the first minute but Hailsham dominated from there on and the hosts were fortunate to lead at the interval thanks to a rare goal from Andy Fisk on the stroke of half time.
An improved second half display was capped by Pat Harding's strike on 58 minutes and Hailsham's frustrations boiled over in the closing stages when Mark French and Graham Overton were both sent off.
Three Bridges had goalkeeper Alan Mansfield to thank after fine saves from Danny McLauglin and Gary Norgate in their 0-0 draw at Arundel.
Jamie Laidlaw struck twice in the impressive 5-2 win at Sidley which sent Chichester City United into fourth place.
Roger Moore, Neil Murfin and Paul Thomas were all on target with boss Adie Girdler saying: "We played quite well on a difficult pitch. We got the ball forward early and played off the front two."
Southwick are running into a bit of form. They saw off Pagham 4-2 at Old Barn Way but boss Sammy Donnelly insisted: "We can still play better."

It was YM's first win of 2003 and they were helped by fine displays from makeshift striker Mark Francis, who scored one and made another, and Paul Charman.
Joel O'Hara hit YM's second and victory was rounded off by a fierce finish from Nick Flint.
It was Flint's first goal since he scored ten in one match against Littlehampton more than four months ago.
