A romantic Argus reader is celebrating after taking the plunge and proposing to his girlfriend through the pages of his favourite paper.
Jose Villamizar, 43, of Carisbrook Road, Brighton, got the answer he wanted from girlfriend Jodi after placing a message reading: "Jodi, you are my world, will you be my wife?" appeared in Friday's edition.
When contacted to see if the offer was accepted, he said: "She said yes and I'm really happy about it, though no date has been set yet."
Jose's was not the only proposal in print.
Another read: "Ellie Babe. You sexy thing. Will you marry me? Love Ricky Boy."
The romantic who placed the ad could not be contacted.
Lovestruck Matt Lindner sealed his romantic reputation by proposing to his girlfriend on live TV.
The gym instructor set up a candle-lit table on the Palace Pier on Friday night, Valentine's Day, got down on one knee and asked Sam Davies to marry him.
Sam, a law student, had no inkling of what he had planned but said yes without hesitation.
The couple, from Fiveways, Brighton, shared the moment with thousands of viewers as it was broadcast live on Meridian.
Hours earlier, Sam, 20, and Matt, 23, just missed being named as Britain's most romantic couple.
The pair met after their cars collided in a gymnasium car park.
They received a UK weekend break worth £500 as runners-up in the Asda Valentine's competition.
