Lewes secured what could prove to be a valuable point in their battle for survival in National League division two.
Andy Pike scored two minutes from time as Lewes drew 1-1 at home to fourth placed Hounslow and Ealing.
The visitors had the better of proceedings but Lewes defended well throughout with skipper Will Champness outstanding at the back and goalkeeper Marc Wilkinson making a number of fine saves.
Hounslow forced eight short corners in the first half, including four in the opening ten minutes, but they could not find a breakthrough.
It remained goalless until the 53rd minute when David Egerton put Hounslow ahead with an excellent strike from open play.
With Carl Wright lively and Marnix Achterbergh causing problems with his probing runs, Lewes were always capable of an equaliser and it came just before the end when Wright crossed for Pike to slap the ball into the top corner from close range.
Manager Paul Benoy said: "Hounslow were gutted not to get three points but to be fair they didn't get many shots on targets.
"On balance we were certainly happy with a draw."
With Lewes trying to stay out of the bottom two, other results went in their favour. Blueharts lost both matches of their double-header weekend while Peterborough Town went down 3-1 at Havant on Sunday.
East Grinstead climbed up to fourth in the table after a 2-0 win at home to Oxford Hawks.
The home side dominated throughout but a lack of finishing prevented them from adding to their tally.
Despite conceding an early short corner, Grinstead were soon on top with Duncan Howarth and Ben Payne looking dangerous.
However, they had to wait until two minutes into the second half to break the deadlock as Mike Holland scored at the second attempt from a short corner.
A second goal followed on 56 minutes through Steve Edmonds tight angle finish.
Coach Ian Pattison said: "I was pleased with our discipline and we were able to work on some of the areas that let us down against Bowdon. However, we have some tougher games in the coming weeks and it will be very important that we take our chances."
