The Sussex PGU Winter Series ended with Willingdon's Tom Foreman carding a three under par 67 to win the last event at Royal Eastbourne.
Funded by the SPGU and entrance fees, the series was a new arrival on the fixture list to give the pros something to play for at a time when meaningful competition is often out of the question.
Altogether £1,500 prize money was raised and the series kicked off in December with Tim Spence of Battle winning at Piltdown. Bad weather meant a cancellation at Cowdray Park last month but the idea caught on and the series resumes next winter.
Leading scores at Royal Eastbourne:
67 Tom Foreman (Willingdon).
69 Tim Spence (Battle).
70 Charlie Giddings (Hastings), Giles Velvick (Horam Park), David Mills (Seaford).
71 Nick Scott (Effingham Park), Dean Plant (Willingdon).
72 Jason Partridge (Piltdown).
73 Lee Morris (Horsham GF); Alan Tyson (Horam Park).
74 Paul Lyons (Sweetwoods); Darren Cook (West Hove), Neil Georges (unattached).
