A father-to-be hurled a brick at a bus shelter to let out his frustration.
Steven Barton, 23, caused damage costing £128.50 to the shelter in Broadwater Street West, Worthing.
Worthing Magistrates Court heard Barton, who is unemployed, of Spirebridge Road, Storrington, had been at a nightclub in Worthing just before the incident, at about 3am on February 2.
Claire Ellis, prosecuting, said Barton was seen picking up and hurling the brick by a passing motorist, who called police.
She said damage had been caused to the bottom pane of glass in the shelter.
Wendy Holmes, defending, said: "My client had gone out this particular evening and when in the nightclub had been verbally abused by another person.
"Mr Barton was very upset by this and left the nightclub. In his frustration he picked up a brick and threw it at the bus shelter."
She said he took full responsibility for his actions.
Barton, who pleaded guilty to criminal damage, was sentenced to a 12-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay for the damage to the bus shelter and costs of £55.
