I understand the clock in London known to most people as Big Ben has kept good time virtually since 1859. This is achieved by the use of a few copper pennies on the mechanism.
In Brighton, we now have the golden ball working on our clock tower (well, it was on Saturday).
Would it, I wonder, be possible for Brighton and Hove City Council to spend a few thousand more pennies on the clock in this tower so it would also tell us at least the correct time?
