A simple and cheap alarm could have helped to save the life of 21-month-old toddler Joe Short.
But the little boy, whose parents live in Lancing, died in his sleep almost a year ago.
Joe suffered from seizures known as febrile convulsions, which his parents thought were frightening but probably not life threatening.
After he had died, they learned the cause was probably connected with a form of epilepsy.
If they had known, they would have bought an alarm to monitor his breathing during the night and alert them if something was wrong.
Now they are trying to raise awareness of risks involved with febrile convulsions, however small they may be.
Their campaign may help other parents avoid the terrible and unexpected tragedy they endured last year.
