Government ministers were taking a college bus today for the launch of a new report on transport.
Barbara Roche, minister for social exclusion, and transport minister John Spellar were to arrive at Varndean College, Brighton, to announce new transport measures to help those on low incomes get to places of work, education and health care.
Varndean College was chosen because of a special bus service which allows students from east Brighton to travel free.
Brighton and Hove City Council was given £170,000 by the Government to launch the project.
Two shuttle buses have been in operation since September running from Coldean, Moulsecoomb and Bevendean to Brighton, Hove and Sussex Sixth Form College, City College, Varndean College and Moulsecoomb railway station, where students can catch a train to Lewes.
