Mayur Majithia (Crawley), holder of the Sussex singles title, has been seeded No.5 for Sunday's All-Sussex Championships at the Six Villages Centre, Fontwell.
Majithia, who beat Sussex No.1 Ritchie Venner at the recent Crawley Championship, will probably clash with one of the top four seeds in the quarter-finals.
If the four top seeds reach the semi-finals, a star-studded line-up will feature Venner v Peter Bartram and Adrian Moore v Nigel Eckersley.
This is the strongest line-up for years and Venner is after his ninth title.
The battle for the women's crown could be an anti-climax. In the absence of Sally Weston, Rose Rainton (Bexhill) seems certain to win her seventh title unless one of the younger players, possibly Sarah Stedman or Sara Coggon, can make a breakthrough.
Sheila King has won another silver medal. In Doncaster, playing for Millennium Belles in the final session of the British Women's League, her team finished second in the premier division. She won four of her five matches.
