the saga of Saffie may appear to have a happy ending for the cat, now reunited with her original owners, yet the argument over who is liable for her neutering and microchipping costs continues to rage.
I must express my great admiration and appreciation for the Tulleys, a hard-working and dedicated couple. We obtained our two cats from them a year ago following the death of our beloved 20-year-old cat.
Our new additions regularly revisit the cat shelter whenever we go away. Michael and Jane are remarkable people, professional and caring towards our feline friends.
We should all ensure our cats are wearing collars or microchipped and, preferably, neutered.
I would be frantic with worry if my cats were missing for longer than 24 hours and as well as leafleting I would have contacted every local cat shelter and vet within a few days.
So, come on, cut the Tulleys some slack so they may continue to do what they do best - look after cats.
This negative publicity will surely serve only to deter prospective cat owners from offering a stray cat a new home.
