Referring to the report "Prescott avoids new homes timetable" (The Argus, February 26), I thought the estimate of 12 years to connect Thurrock in Kent with a water supply was a little optimistic.
Finding the place will be the first obstacle because, unless it has moved since the latest map was printed, Thurrock is still in Essex.
But, as John Prescott explained to the committee, facts shouldn't really be allowed to get in the way - they are for someone else to sort out.
As he said, priorities on infrastructure will have to be decided soon.
If Thurrock is to be moved to Kent, the sooner the better, I would have thought.
