The Chatsworth Hotel has finally succeeded in a bid to convert a building nearby into staff accommodation.
Worthing planners had previously baulked at the scheme at 7 Steyne Gardens amid fears the property could become bedsits, lowering the tone of the area.
The owners of the Ardington Hotel, opposite the Chatsworth, objected but councillors have now supported the scheme after seeking assurances that only hotel staff would be accommodated.
Meanwhile, Worthing's new radio station has been given the green light to broadcast after planners allowed the installation of aerials on the roof of Guildbourne House in Chatsworth Road.
Splash FM is constructing a studio on the first-floor of the Guildbourne Centre in preparation for a spring launch for the station.
