The Government's association with the extremist Christian fundamentalists in the White House is causing the Labour Party enormous damage.

I am no longer a Labour Party member and am no longer willing to help Labour Party candidates defeat Tory candidates in elections because I can see no difference.

The Government is encouraging the BNP with its inhumane, racist persecution of refugees and asylum-seekers.

It is attacking working people and their unions with its authoritarian threats to criminalise firefighters' strikes.

It is intent on killing thousands of Muslims in a war to boost an extremist US president's election chances.

What is the Labour Party for? I will be campaigning for my trade union, the TGWU, to disaffiliate from the party because it clearly no longer represents working people.

I will be supporting the candidate for TGWU general secretary who will most effectively oppose Tony Blair.

I will also be campaigning to democratise the union's political funds so our money can aid the Greens, Liberal Democrats, Socialist Alliance or nationalist parties at the expense of the pointless Labour Party.
