Plans to extend a cattery and replace a mobile home with a three-bedroom house look set to be approved, despite objections.
Ally Cats, at The Acre in Dappers Lane, Angmering, wants to increase the number of runs from 24 to 58.
The owners also want to build a family home on the site.
But the plans have attracted criticism from Angmering Parish Council and the Council for the Protection of Rural England (CPRE).
The CPRE said the development went against the local plan because it was outside the built-up area.
It also said the increased traffic movements from the cattery extension would be unneighbourly.
The parish council said it would lift its objection if the house was used solely by cattery workers.
Planning officers at Arun District Council are recommending the development control committee approves the plans.
In a report to councillors, they say the development would not be unneighbourly and it would not adversely affect the character of the area.
The planning application will be decided by councillors on Wednesday March 12.
