The Argus (February 12) published a photograph of Surfers Against Sewage staging a sit-down protest.
Knowing this would amuse a friend, I sent it to her. Here is her response, which she has given me permission to send.
* We had a lot of sit-down strikes here, Many years ago.
But what they really sat on, We never got to know.
Now it's been revealed, By this amazing photograph, In a Brighton paper, Which would make a starfish laugh.
Let's hope the local council, Cleans up its act at last, And at the next full meeting, We see a motion passed.
We trust these brave protesters, Were treated with some lenience, As the cause was very serious, And done at their convenience.
