It was nice to read that Brighton and Hove City Council has at last realised the need to attend to the filthy, chewing gum-strewn pavements.
This is something that should have been attended to some time ago, along with the litter, graffiti and fly-posting the city has to suffer.
Had these problems been attended to some time ago, the city may have at least made the shortlist for Capital of Culture.
