The husband of a woman whose disappearance sparked a huge search has thanked volunteers and police officers who helped bring her home.
Wendy Corbin, 42, went missing on Tuesday night and was found safe yesterday lunchtime in a field four miles from home.
A 50-strong search team was formed, made up of police, Neighbourhood Watch volunteers and the Sussex Lowland Search and Rescue team.
The searchers covered miles of rural land around Walberton, near Arundel, where Mrs Corbin lives with her husband Trevor and their three children aged 12, 14 and 17.
She was spotted sitting in woods, looking confused, and was taken to St Richard's Hospital, Chichester, for health checks and assessment.
Mr Corbin said: "I want to thank every single person who has helped search for my wife.
"Within 30 minutes of ringing the police to report her missing, they were searching for her. More and more people got involved and it was a fantastic response.
"I thank them from the whole family. We could not have asked for more."
Mrs Corbin left her home on Tuesday at 9.30pm, leaving her three children alone in the house, which was said to be totally out of character. She could not drive and had not taken anything with her.
Dozens of volunteers were drafted in to the quiet village to help with the search.
Chief Inspector Steve Whitton, Arun district commander, said: "It appears Mrs Corbin has spent all this time out in the open and we are relieved to have found her safe and well."
