Skipper Gaylon Moore admits he will not mind riding second class if he can lead Worthing Thunder to a win double.

The NBL Conference challengers will board their trusty minibus today and make the five-hour trek to the north west as part of another gruelling weekend.

Thunder go to the John Amaechi Centre to tackle Manchester Magic tonight (7.30pm), then return home for the clash with Hackney White Heat tomorrow (4pm).

They will be looking for a repeat of the form which saw them beat leaders Teesside Mohawks 107-92 at Durrington last Saturday.

Covering miles is all part of the job for a basketball player, especially one who has played in the United States.

Moore said: "I've had longer trips than this but let's just say I've done it in a bit more comfort.

"At 6ft.7ins it's nice to be on a proper bus and be able to walk around and stretch your legs.

"The trips are good for team spirit though. It's good to catch up with the other players who we don't see much during the week other than for games and practice.

"We'll have a game of cards if there's nothing else to do. In fact, I'm the card shark on the team but the other players might not tell you that."

Thunder were holding the aces last week when Teesside, minus star player Ralph Bucci, were beaten in style.

Moore admitted: "They will give Bucci not playing as a reason why the score was so lop-sided but we will happily take the win.

"This will be a big weekend for us. Manchester are a tough team, they showed that when they came to Worthing, but all we can do is play through and try and get the two wins. We can't afford not to."

Injury-free Thunder will look for another big performance from Damien Harris, who has been a revelation in recent games coming off the bench to do the dirty work inside.

Moore said: "He has stepped up and had some real big games offensively and also defensively, standing in front of the man with the ball and taking the charge."

Londoner Marvin Addy knows what to expect when Hackney visit and has warned his colleagues they will not be able to coast towards the end of a tough weekend.

Addy said: "It should be fun. I know almost the whole Hackney team and they are the sort of players who, once they get going, will become very dangerous. They never quit. They play to the final buzzer.

"I'm not playing great at the moment but we are paying quite well as a team which is what counts."
