Another controlled parking scheme is likely to get the go-ahead from Brighton & Hove city councillors.
The council's environment committee is being recommended to approve a scheme for Westbourne south in Hove, at a meeting on Thursday.
More than 1,000 replies were sent to the authority after consultation over the plans and, in the southern end of Westbourne ward, 64 per cent were in favour of controlled parking.
But in Poets Corner, 57 per cent were against the scheme and transport councillor Simon Battle said: "We have listened carefully to their views.
"As a result we have decided against proceeding with a scheme there for the time being."
