Deutsche Telekom, which owns the T-Mobile phone operator, has unveiled Europe's biggest ever annual corporate loss.
The German telephone company said it had lost £17 billion during 2002 but had managed to narrow its deficit in the fourth quarter.
Many of Deutsche Telekom's losses have been caused by the slump in the value of assets it acquired during the telecom and dotcom booms of the late Nineties.
