The Jaeger fashion brand has changed hands for the second time in as many months, it was announced yesterday.
Its new owner, fashion entrepreneur Harold Tillman, bought the group's 52 stores, 15 discount outlets and 94 in-store concessions for an undisclosed fee and intends to return the company to its "former glory".
Mr Tillman, chairman of the Savile Row menswear business BMB, agreed the sale with former Queens Park Rangers chairman Richard Thomson just six weeks after he paid textiles firm Coats £1 for the group and its sister, Viyella.
The entrepreneur, who was also behind the introduction of the Jeff & Co clothing range at Sainsbury's, said: "Jaeger is one of the most famous names in British fashion. It was iconic in the Sixties and Seventies."
