A son who intimidated his elderly mother has been told to seek medical help.
Paul Bance, 42, who is unemployed, became abusive when he mixed his medication and alcohol.
Worthing Magistrates Court was told Bunce, who lives with his 78-year-old mother in Browning Road, Worthing, started shouting and swearing at her on Sunday evening and she called police for help.
Kirsten Sharp, prosecuting, said: "His mother felt very intimidated by him."
David Quelch, defending, said: "There is a social problem that needs to be dealt with. A bind-over would help to keep him out of trouble."
Magistrate Sally Godfrey told him: "You clearly have a problem you have to address. You should seek help from the relevant authorities."
She sentenced Bance, who admitted a breach of the peace, to be bound over in the sum of £200 for 12 months.
