Fund raising fanatic John Keehan is going to the dogs to help cash-strapped Albion.
He has organised a 'Friends of the Albion' race night at Hove greyhound stadium on May 1.
The Keehan family, including Bradford midfielder Michael Standing, are sponsoring the first two races on the card and John is seeking £500 sponsors for each of the other ten races.
He can be contacted on Brighton 327879.
Richard Carpenter will escape with a warning after collecting his fifth caution of the campaign against Rotherham last Saturday.
An automatic one-match ban for a nap hand of yellow cards does not apply from March onwards.
Players can still be suspended for two games for ten bookings, a fate suffered by Rotherham captain Martin McIntosh at Withdean.
Albion fans are having to dig deep to follow the team to Portman Road on Saturday week.
Seat prices for the clash at Ipswich are £23 for adults.
If the initial allocation of 1,500 seats sells out then the adult price increases to £28 for an extra 300.
Applications for tickets for the home game against Preston on April 12 must be made by next Thursday.
Goal-scoring defender Nicky Bridle has earned praise for the way he has recovered from a long-term ankle injury.
Bridle netted twice to help table-topping Albion under-19s beat Oxford 4-2 at Sussex University.
Martin Hinshelwood, Albion director of football, said: "We brought him back carefully and he has got through it. He has worked very hard, played okay and has even been getting goals."
Striker Mark Windsor also scored twice as the under-19s made it three wins out of three in the second merit division of the Youth Alliance (South).
The under-19s are at Luton on Saturday.
Albion under-17s need a point from Saturday's trip to Cambridge in their final league fixture to clinch the Youth Alliance title.
A draw at Luton last week would have been enough but they lost 2-0.
Martin Hinshelwood, Albion director of football, said: "I'm not saying it would have changed the result but Luton were stronger than expected because they had players available who were due to play for their under-19s before a match with Exeter was postponed."
