Drunken youths are being blamed after plants were pulled up and fences and windows were smashed.
Police described the incidents in Ringmer, Lewes, at the weekend as "despicable".
Bedding plants were pulled out of planters in the Springett Avenue shopping arcade. Other damage was caused to flower tubs, fences, windows and animal pens.
Inspector Dave Padwick said: "This kind of loutish behaviour affects the quality of life in the parish and it's something I will not tolerate.
"I want to work with the community to keep Ringmer the pleasant place it is.
"I am asking anyone who suffered damage to contact us immediately.
"Criminal damage in the Lewes area is down but to the people of Ringmer such senseless acts are a very real problem."
