Warren Bagnall's first half strike gave Crawley a well-deserved 1-0 win at Tiverton in a bad-tempered Dr Martens Premier clash last night.
Reds were missing seven players so Connor McCurdy came in for his debut while Jon Timlin and Scott Kirkwood were also handed starting roles.
Peter Fear, Nic McDonald, Neil Le Bihan, Mo Harkin, Stewart Holmes, Nigel Brake and Danny Hockton were the absentees for Crawley.
Reds played a 4-5-1 formation with Bagnall as lone striker and it nearly paid off as soon as the third minute.
Bagnall's original header was cleared but he thumped the rebound against Tiverton's crossbar.
Bagnall made no mistake in the 18th minute.
He dispossessed Jason Rees 40 yards from goal, rounded keeper Ben Foster and then slotted home from a tight angle.
Bagnall then had a chance to double the lead before Tiverton were reduced to ten men right on half time, Nathan Rudge sent off for an ugly challenge on Bagnall.
Tiverton had a goal ruled out four minutes into the second half, Richard Pears adjudged offside.
The home side squandered a 77th minute penalty, Kevin Nancekivell firing wide.
Numbers were evened four minutes from time as Kirkwood was sent off for a second booking.
