It was another sad day when I heard of the death of Barry Sheene.
I knew Barry as he was always down here at Shoreham, where he had his own Enstrom Shark helicopter (G-BGMX) in the Eighties.
He loved flying as well as motorcycling. Barry also had his super-fast boat, pictured above one day when I was with him at Shoreham Airport.
We had some mugs of coffee and a sandwich when he was working on his trailer, changing the bearings.
I think my picture says it all - just how keen he was on all his sports and what sort of a chap he was.
Everything had to be just right and he never took any short cuts or unnecessary risks with anything he did.
I send my condolences to Stephanie and his two children, Freddie and Sidonie, who, like all his friends, will miss him terribly.
Barry was a great man and loved by all wherever he went.
