Dave Shearing is set to get a two-year contract as manager of a newly-formed Eastbourne United Association next season.

Eastbourne United and Shinewater Association will merge at the end of this season and play in division two of the County League.

Shearing said: "I have been around a long time and believe with stability we will be capable of doing something at the club.

"We would hope to have at least five of our best players on contract too."

Meanwhile, Hailsham have signed Ian Pelling from East Sussex League side Heathfield United as cover for midfielder Paul Richardson, who is ruled out for the rest of the season with a back injury.
