Richard Alston is a choreographer passionately inspired by music.
He is renowned for creating dances that revel in the expression of movement and sound. He has put together three works set to different musical pieces.
The show starts with Stampede. The hypnotic sounds of medieval Italian have been arranged by the Dufay Collective.
The second work, Slow Airs Almost All, is particularly complex with a string ensemble performing live on stage.
It will be the first time these dancers have attempted the piece to an audience. One of the 12 is Jonathan Goddard, from Hastings. His family live locally and he admits: "This is the city I love to be part of."
The final dance is Rumours, Visions. Set to Benjamin Britten's exhilarating score, the dance explores the life and work of poet-genius Arthur Rimbaud.
Tickets £7 to £12. Call 01273 685861. There is a free pre-show talk with Richard Alston on Tuesday at 7pm.
