We have been studying in Brighton and Hove for one week and have been able to appreciate lots of different things in the city.
Unfortunately, they can only be appreciated in the daytime because in the evening there is not enough street lighting.
Even the centre of the city is dark and, of course, dangerous. An extra problem is that in the winter it's already dark at half-past five and we can't walk alone because of the danger and lack of security in the streets.
We know a woman was attacked near the place we live and we think this was because of the darkness. With more lighting, we would be more secure.
In dark streets, it is easy for criminals to attack without being seen.
