I have been asked on behalf of Craven Vale 60-plus action group to thank Ruth Glaser, all her crew and the Brighton and Hove Coalition of Older People for the splendid event With Age Comes..., staged in Churchill Square last Saturday.

As participants, we have been aware of how much has gone on behind the scenes and the tremendous amount of work the team has been involved in.

All the groups concerned had T-shirts printed with a picture of a memorable event in their lives. With Age Comes... is Ruth's project - and what a success.

To all the many spectators lining the square and joining in, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. This was the voice of the elderly in Brighton and Hove and our message to the young is: "We have been there, we have done it and, what's more, we have got the T-shirts."

What an event - eat your heart out, Norman Cook, we have arrived, thanks to Ruth and her team.
