Worthing picked up only their ninth point in 13 games after an uninspiring 1-1 draw at next to bottom Molesey.
Worthing have gone four months since their last away league win and Keith Rowley took charge of this game with manager Barry Lloyd away on a scouting mission.
Tom Graves and Gary Young were both off target with headers before the unmarked John Hughes put Molesey in front with a looping header from a cross by former Crawley player Gus Hurdle.
Worthing went on to have the better of the first half and Andy Alexander twice saw efforts go over before Ben Carrington's cross from the left on 37 minutes found Alexander who headed past Pestana at the far post.
Worthing struggled to impose themselves after the break but Molesey lacked the quality to take maximum points as Dean Canoville and Sam Lynott wasted chances.
