Redhill's relegation fight got an unexpected boost with a shock 4-1 win at home to leaders Burgess Hill in County League division one.
Victory moved Redhill up to sixth from bottom on a day when the battle for survival became much clearer.
Littlehampton were relegated following a 1-1 draw at Shoreham and Wick will be down if Selsey take a point against Arundel tomorrow.
Peacehaven, who currently occupy the third relegation place, beat East Preston 2-1 but the Redhill result dampened celebrations at Piddinghoe Avenue.
Goals from Andrew Graves (2), Stephen Gillett and Luke Jones gave Redhill the points against the champions-elect who replied through Steve Harper's penalty just before half time.
Redhill boss Ian Dawes, the former QPR and Millwall defender, said: "It should have been more. If we had won 8-1 it would have been fair enough.
"We played excellently. We took more of the chances we created which we haven't been doing. We weren't worried about them being top, we just went out and enjoyed ourselves.
"This result will give us enough confidence to go on and hopefully win three out of our last seven which will be enough to keep us up."
