Pub darts may be dying out in Worthing's pubs, a leading county player has warned.
Phil Hill, 42, of Galsworthy Close, Worthing, said in 1994 the area boasted about 48 teams but now it was only a fraction of that.
Players now had to travel further afield to get a decent game.
Phil, who has played at county level for Sussex, said: "Because the league is so much smaller you are repeatedly playing each other week after week.
"The pubs are kicking the game out and bringing in food and pool tables instead. The landlords don't give you sponsorship. Darts is dying out.
"We used to have 48 teams but it has just plummeted. The summer league is coming up and it is going to be five or six teams."
