Albion under-17s have won the Youth Alliance title following their victory at Cambridge United.
A second-half goal by Dean Cox secured a 1-0 win at Cambridge to make sure of the championship.
Director of football Martin Hinshelwood says title success proves the club does have talented youngsters.
The youth set-up has been criticised for not producing enough players for the first team.
Hinshelwood said: "Those who criticise are free to come and watch our youngsters play and train and they will see we do have talent.
"Winning the under-17s title twice and finishing runners-up in the last three years shows that. The under-19s are top of their league and that underlines the point.
"I played youngsters when I was in charge of the first team at the beginning of the season and paid for it in a way. But I would do so again given the circumstances.
"Only Kerry Mayo and Adam Hinshelwood from the youth set up are in the first team squad. But we are fighting for our lives and Steve Coppell needs experience."
The under-19s drew 0-0 at Luton after three straight wins in division two (south).
